What are your floors telling you? Is your tile and grout clean and shiny or do they appear to be old and worn? Over time, dirt will collect in the grooves of your tile flooring adding to the appearance of worn out floors and leaving a less then positive impression for clients.
Grout cleaning is more difficult then tile cleaning. In areas like bathrooms and basements mold can also accumulate and dirt and mold are a bad combination for any type of flooring. So what is the best and most effective way to clean tile and grout?
The most common and effective agent used on floors is powder oxygen bleach. This product does not cause heavy fumes and is non-toxic so it is safe to use, albeit carefully. You must be very careful and safety conscious when dealing with any bleach product. Powdered oxygenated bleach will remove food and grease stains fairly easily and will restore dark, dirty grout lines to their original clean appearance with just a minimal effort. With a simple mixture of powdered bleach and warm water you can spread onto the grout and floor. Allow this to soak for fifteen minutes before using a thick brush to scrub it clean. Repeat this process until dirt and grime are gone. Allow the floor to dry for 5 to 8 hours and you should have great
results.
While you clean your grout some of your flooring will be cleaned as well but if your overall floor needs more cleaning use the same solution as you used for your grout. Simply mop your floor with the solution all over your tiles and flooring. Rinse floors with clean water and repeat if necessary.
